About Professional Make-up Artist - Andrea Bartlett

Andrea Bartlett has had over 7 years of industry experience, with a passion for bridal and specialises in both traditional and airbrushing make-up.  Andrea only uses the highest quality photographic and professional make-up products on her clients and also offers beauty treatments such as specialised facials, spray tans, facial waxing & tinting, manicures, pedicures, and nails leading up to your big event.

Andrea Bartlett has held a 5 star excellence rating since 2006 in True Bride's Good Wedding Guide™.

Wedding & Special Event Bookings & Pricing FAQ’s

When are the ‘Complete Treat Beauty’ team available for wedding, formal and special occasion bookings?

1. The team are available for bookings seven (7) days a week, strictly by advanced appointment only and subject to availability.
   

What areas do the team service?

1. Our home-based salon is situated in Ipswich, however we service the greater south-east Queensland area including Ipswich, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba. 
   

2. We are also available to travel to other areas if required, just inquire.  However, minimum call out and travel fees apply.
   

Is there a minimum call out for your mobile service?

1. Yes, we require a minimum booking of four (4) adults’ per stylist. 
   

2. If booking for make-up and hair styling on the day of your special event, you will have a stylist who specialises in make-up and a stylist that specialises in hair styling come to you, not someone who can do both.
   

Is there a call out and travelling fee for your mobile service?  

1. Yes, there is a call out fee of $30 per stylist (hair and/or make-up). 
   

2. There is also a travel fee, depending on where we are required to travel to on the day of your special event.  The first 40km are free of charge and then travel is charged at .50c per km return from Eastern Heights, Ipswich, 4305.

Why do make-up artists charge such different rates?

1. Just like hair stylists, make-up artists charge according to their level of experience and quality of the products they use. Professional make-up artists who use professional photographic quality make-up will generally charge more than amateurs.  My rates reflect industry standard and you will get what you paid for…. beautiful make-up that looks flawless in person and in your photos.
   

Do you offer discounts?

1. No sorry, as we are not an agency but a small team of independent wedding stylists who have come together for weddings, we are unable to offer cheaper rates.  Please see our Specials/Packages page for current specials & packages available.   
   

How far in advance do I need to make a booking for my wedding, formal or special occasion?

1. It is recommended that you check our availability as soon as you know the date of your event.  We can make a tentative booking for you, after which you have a week to confirm this booking with us.  Please note however, that we can not hold the date for your exclusively and your booking with us is not confirmed until we have received your booking deposit.  
   

2. We accept tentative bookings up to a year in advance, however we do not take confirmed bookings more than six (6) months in advance.
   

How do I secure my booking with the ‘Complete Treat Beauty’ team for my special day?

1. To secure your booking a non-refundable, non-transferable $100 booking deposit is required.  This booking deposit secures your make-up artist and/or hair stylist exclusively for your special day and is taken off the total cost. 
   

2. This $100 booking deposit and any other payments can be made by cash, direct bank transfer (EFT), money order, bank cheque, and personal cheque (with driver license details).  Please contact us to obtain bank account details for direct bank transfer (EFT).
   

What are the terms and conditions involved with making a booking?

1. There is a call out fee of $30 per stylist (mobile make-up and/or hair).
   

2. Minimum call out of four (4) adults per service (mobile make-up and/or hair).
   

3. Travel charges will apply at $0.50 cents per kilometre return to Eastern Heights, Qld, 4305.  However the first 40 kilometres are included free of charge.
   

4. Car parking where complimentary parking is not available will need to be covered by the client. 
   

5. Total amount payable must be paid on or before the event date.  If paying by direct bank deposit or cheque, payment must be received no later than 14 days prior to the event.
   

6. To secure your wedding booking a non-refundable, non-transferable $100 booking deposit is required.  This booking deposit is taken off the total hair & make-up costs on the wedding day.
   

7. All payments can be made by cash, direct bank transfer (EFT), money order, bank cheque, and personal cheque (with driver license details).  Please contact us to obtain bank account details for direct bank transfer (EFT).
   

8. Salon hours are as stated on the Contact Us page and bookings are strictly by appointment only.  After hours appointments are also available, but may incur an early start of late finish fee of $50 per stylist.
   

9. Public holidays will incur a 10% surcharge on total services.
   

10. Current pricing effective until 30th June 2010.  Pricing structure and quotes after 1st July 2010 are subject to change without notice.
    

On the Day of your Wedding or Special Event FAQ’s

How long should I allow for make-up and hair styling for my special event?

1. A professional make-up application should take approximately 45 minutes to an hour per person.  This is the same for hair styling.  Therefore please allow 1.5 - 2 hours per person for make-up and hair styling for your special event.
   

Is there anything that we need to do in preparation for getting our make-up & hair done? 

1. Yes!  Please ensure that everyone who is getting their hair styled has washed their hair the day or night before hand and it is completely dry on the morning of the wedding. 
   

2. Please also ensure on the morning of the wedding that no one in the bridal party is wearing any make-up, that everyone’s face has been cleansed and moisturised (not with a moisturiser that contains SPF) and that they are all wearing tops or clothing that can easily be removed, as to not wreck your hair and make-up, i.e. button up shirt or strapless dress. 
   

3. Please also find an area in the house or hotel room that allows plenty of natural light and venation and has a power supply near by, so we can plug in our styling tools.
   

   

Do I need any products to touch up with?  

1. If getting traditional make-up done, you may wish to purchase a photographic powder compact or blotting paper, if oily skin is a problem for you.
   

2. If getting airbrushing make-up done you won’t need any powder or blotting paper, unless you suffer from extremely oily skin. 
   

3. We also stockists for the boutique brand Harlotte.  Harlotte lipsticks ($30) come in 12 luscious nude shades (6 nude pink shades & 6 nude brown shades) and are formulated for eye-catching lustre.  Other gorgeous products in the Harlotte bridal range include lippie pots ($22), cheeky garters ($24.95), lip liner pencils ($24), and lipshine ($28).  All of these products are available of the day of your special event for purchase.
   

  

What payment methods are accepted?

1. Cash, direct bank transfer (EFT), money order, bank cheque, & personal cheque (with drivers license details).  Please contact us to obtain bank account details for direct bank transfer (EFT).
   

2. Total amount payable must be paid on or before the event date.  If paying by direct bank deposit or cheque, payment must be received no later than 14 days prior to the event.
   

Trials/Rehearsals FAQ’s

Do I need to have a make-up and hair trial/rehearsal and what actually happens?

1. This is entirely up to you.  We do a number of weddings where the bride doesn’t have a trial/rehearsal.  However it is highly recommended for someone who doesn’t normally wear make-up, has skin concerns, needs advice on skin or hair preparation prior to the wedding or has never had their hair and make-up done professionally before.
   

2. If you have a make-up look and/or hairstyle in mind that you would like to try out, a trial/rehearsal will put your mind at ease.  Let us work with you to design the most flattering final result for you and your bridal party, which will be reflected in person and in your wedding photos. 
   

3. During your in salon trial/rehearsal that takes approximately 2 hours, we will discuss your requirements as we try out a hairstyle and a make-up look to suit your face shape, bone structure, skin type, hair length, dress style, wedding theme & colours, as well as veil/hair accessory placement.  This gives you the opportunity to see the finished look and discuss any concerns you might have, wedding day details, time frames and preferences, etc. before the wedding day. 
   

What should I bring with me to my make-up and/or hair trial/rehearsal? 

1. If you have any photos of make-up looks and hair styles that you like from wedding magazines or the Internet, a picture of your wedding down, colour swatches of the dresses (bride & bridesmaids) any jewellery, head pieces, tiaras, veil, etc.  Any thing really that will give us a better picture of your overall wedding theme and style.
   

   

How far before my wedding or special event should I book my trial/rehearsal?

1. We suggest approximately a month or two (4 to 8 weeks) before the event date.  We also suggest you booking your trial/rehearsal in for a date when you have a something on, like your hen’s night or bridal shower or if you are going out for dinner or to a party, so you can make the most of your hair and/or make-up.
   

Do I need to pay for my make-up and hair trial/rehearsal? 

1. Absolutely.  We actually spend more time with you at your trial getting the look just right for you in preparation for your wedding day or special event.  The price of your make-up and/or hair trial/rehearsal will be the same price as your make-up and/or hair styling on the day of your wedding or special event.
   

Will the make-up artist and hair stylist I have at my trial/rehearsal be the same stylist/s I have on my special day?

1. Yes absolutely!  The stylist/s that you have booked and have had a trial/rehearsal with, will be the actual stylist/s that you have on your special day.
