Highly sought-after make-up artist Andrea Bartlett and owner of Complete Treat Beauty Salon has had over 8 years of industry experience,

with a passion for bridal and specialises in both traditional and airbrushing make-up.

Andrea attends to well over 100 brides and their bridal parties a year and was honoured to be voted by her past brides into the Australian Bridal Industry Excellence Awards as a top finalist in 2011, 2010 and 2009.

Only the highest quality photographic and professional quality make-up products and up-to-date techniques are used on her clients and whether you are after a natural, classic or glamourous make-up look for your wedding day, formal or special event, Andrea knows that with her years of experience, skills and knowledge she can design the perfect look for you.

What is the airbrushing make-up?

1. Airbrushing is a make-up application technique where foundation is sprayed onto the face using an air compressor and a gun as a fine mist of colour that gently covers the skin, giving the appearance of a flawless complexion.  Because the foundation is misted on, it allows your true skin tone to show through without masking your face. 
   

What is the difference between traditional and airbrushing make-up applications?

1. Airbrush make-up is by far the superior technique.  Traditional foundations if not applied correctly by a professional make-up artist can look obvious, caked-on or thick with a heavy feeling on the skin.  Airbrushed make-up is exceptionally lightweight and can feel as if you are not wearing make-up at all.
   

2. Unlike traditional make-up applications, with airbrushing you have the ability to custom mix foundation colours for each individual, creating the most natural look that is unsurpassed. By airbrushing on foundation, you use 1/3 the amount of foundation you would typically use with traditional make-up.
   

3. Spraying micro-dots of airbrushing foundation on the surface of the face and décolletage looks more natural than traditional make-up because it isn’t rubbed into the skin and doesn’t exaggerate the pores.  This process allows the airbrushing foundation to better cover up blemishes, acne, freckles and pigmentation, while still enabling your skin to breath. 
   

What are the advantages of airbrushing make-up?

1. Airbrush makeup is suitable for people of all ages and every skin condition.  The make-up can cover all skin imperfections, is hypoallergenic, fragrance free and waterproof.
   

2. The biggest advantage to using airbrushing is longevity of the application and for those looking for flawless make-up for a wedding or the perfect application for high definition TV, photography or cinema. 
   

3. Airbrushing has been very popular with my brides who value how they look for one of the most important days of their life, their wedding day.  It gives them the peace of mind knowing that they will look their absolute best without any need to touch up for at least 12 – 16 hours. 
   

4. Wedding photographers prefer the finish of airbrush make-up and it saves brides and their bridal parties money by not needing to purchase touch up products.

What make-up products do you use?

1. As a professional make-up artist, I don’t like to limit myself to one particular brand or range of cosmetics, as I believe that one brand alone can not contain a range of products that will suit everybody’s individual needs.  All of the products I use are highly pigmented, professional-grade, photographic, and long wearing.  This allows me to achieve a natural and fresh look with a flawless finish, that looks fantastic in person and in photos, but without the heavy make-up look and feel. 
   

2. My kit does not contain over-the-counter make-up nor mineral make-up, which is fine for everyday wear, however is definitely not recommended for photographs.  Titanium Dioxide and Iron Oxide are the major ingredients in everyday and mineral make-up, which are to be avoided due to the way they ‘flare’ against the photographer’s flash resulting in a ghostly white face.
